Week 14- Portfolio Update & Muse/Animation

For my portfolio, I spent some time setting up an outline that I wanted to follow. I like to make outlines for papers & projects because it keeps me organized and I can make sure that I don't forget about anything. Here's what I have so far:

Portfolio Layout:

Cover Page- intro, about the artist, picture of me, my logo
Table of Contents
Projects
Alaska in August: assignment description, button to link it, where it was created (Adobe Spark)
- Why I chose this topic, my beginning ideas, images that I had and wanted to use
- progress screenshots, what I liked about spark and what I didn’t like
- what I ended up changing and the final design
Sisters of Mercy: assignment description, button to link it, where it was created (Adobe inDesign)
  • Topic I originally chose was human trafficking, here were my original ideas. But sometimes things don’t end up the way you want them to. I realized I wasn’t as comfortable with talking about human trafficking. I decided to change my focus to women instead. (show images and stats that I found)
  • Moodboard (covers most of the page besides a strip running down the right side) Explain there the decisions I made.
  • Storyboard: The layout process I had for this project. Knew I wanted to use a lot of squares and rectangles and then also use a block font with another curly font. Brief idea of the text that I had typed.
  • Design process: especially show the title page and how I didn’t have any of my own pictures. Explain how I figure that going out and taking my own pictures would look a lot better.
Mercy GIF: assignment description, button to link it, where it was created (Adobe Photoshop)
  • Chose the idea of empowering women because that was the idea of my main project. Wanted it to be basic and simple.
    • Measurement sizes
  • Chose vote with mercy because it seemed like a call to action which I think is important for banner ads. They need to be short and sweet to the point or else people won’t pay attention to them.
    • Measurement sizes
Weebly How To: assignment description, button to link it, where it was created (Weebly)
  • Idea that I chose for this how to was a sun salutation. Why I chose this? Yoga is something I’m passionate about and I want to learn more about it, plus I feel this is a topic that not many people know about but should be. Explain my background with yoga is that my mom took me to my first class and I loved it so now I want to introduce my other friends to it as well.
  • How I chose to lay it out: an introduction homepage, a tab for the steps, and tab for things to know, a tab for why yoga, and a tab for references.
  • Final product, link to it. What I like about it. How I felt about weebly- just okay. Found it a little difficult and constricting to work with sometimes.  What I learned from this project.
Conclusion: Where to contact me. What I learned in this class.

For our final project about Muse and Animation I've been having a hard time coming up with an idea that I want to follow. I don't have a senior seminar and I don't really seem to have a theme. I was thinking doing something about finals week, or a recap of my time at Saint Xavier these past 4 years. Other ideas are healthy habits & hacks, my time playing softball, or something about traveling.
