Week 13- Software

Which are each of the following software best at?
- Dreamweaver

• Dreamweaver is a software that creates websites. This is the best option for people who are comfortable with coding instead of just using the options and designs that are available. The interesting part about Dreamweaver is that changes are instant. When you update code, you can watch it change in a split screen view or on your mobile device. 

- Muse

• Muse is another Adobe software that creates websites. Theres are tons of pre-created layouts, templates, and effects that are available. The nice part about this is that you can further customize them to what you like. It's different than Weebly because Weebly is a little bit more limited and restricting.

- Animate

• Adobe Animate is software to create computer animations. The first thing I thought of when I saw this was that it would be the best for creating game apps. Its very simple animation that would work for games on an iPhone. It can also be used in websites and advertisements. 

- Adobe XD

• Adobe XD is more of an all-in-one software used to create websites and mobile forms. This is the best for organizing and sharing designs. It makes it easy to layout everything you want to see and then easily navigate where each page should go.

How does Weebly fit into the world of web. Are there similar web apps that function similar to Weebly?

• Weebly is a free website generator that is very simple and easy to use. They offer pre-made templates that can be followed to a tee or even changed up slightly. It's very convenient for anyone to follow because you drag the elements right onto the screen where you want them. You don't need any prior knowledge about coding in order to create this website. The most similar web app I've heard of is Squarespace and Wix. I've used Wix before to create a free website for another class I was in. It was also very easy to used but you could upgrade and purchase a membership if need be. Squarespace is the app that I hear about the most. I think I've heard the most ads and discount codes for Squarespace compared to Weebly and Wix.

What is a CMS?

• CMS stands for Content Management System. CMS creates and manages digital content. This is great for organizing and sharing information within an organization. The CMS I'm most familiar with is Sharepoint. We used this at my internship and it was super easy to log in and then have access to any of the important documents, photos, or content that I needed. It was accessible from the cloud and we were able to make changes and access a lot of different materials as well as emails and time slot hours.
